The UPC adheres to the work stoppage in Catalonia to reject the violence against citizens on 1 October
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) expresses its rejection, indignation and strongest condemnation of the unjustified and unjustifiable episodes of violence committed by the Civil Guard and the National Police in Catalonia on 1 October.

We believe that the use of force against citizens is intolerable in a democracy and that violence, by definition, can never be proportional.
Regardless of the various political opinions held by the members of the UPC community, we wish to reiterate that dialogue is the only possible solution to any conflict, and we will not cease to insist that it is the only legitimate weapon in democracy.
For all the above reasons, the UPC adheres to the work stoppage scheduled for tomorrow, 3 October.

All activities are suspended
As the UPC is adhering to the work stoppage in Catalonia on 3 October, all activities are suspended, the buildings will remain closed and there will be no minimum services. The staff of the University can consult the information on this on the intranet.
