The two schools of architecture are working together on student and lecturer mobility programmes. ETSAV students can apply for scholarships covering a year or a semester at the UIUC’s School of Architecture through the UPC Abroad programme. Other initiatives include lecturer exchange programmes, joint research projects and participation in international workshops for students and lecturers of the two schools. In the long term, there are plans to develop a joint postgraduate degree programme.
The exchange agreement will formally take effect in the 2014-2015 academic year, with the establishment at the ETSAV of the Study Abroad Programme of the UIUC’s School of Architecture and the participation of selected ETSAV students in the exchange with the University of Illinois.
The letter of intent was signed recently by the director of the ETSAV, Víctor Seguí, and the director of the UIUC’s School of Architecture, David Chasco. It is the basis for the development of a memorandum of understanding, which will be signed in the coming months.
