The UPC rated one of world’s best 150 universities under 50 by THE ranking
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) is ranked in the 101-150 band of the best global universities, in the 60-89 band within Europe, and among the leading technical universities in Spain in the 2016 THE ranking that surveys the top universities in the world under 50 years old.

In the 2016 Times Higher Education (THE) 150 Under 50 Rankings, the UPC is ranked in the 101-150 band at the global level and in the 60-89 band in Europe. Within Spain, the UPC is rated as one of the top technical universities (1-2 band) and in the 5-10 band within the national university system.
This year the number of universities included in the ranking has been increased from 100 to 150. As in previous years, bibliometric indicators are based on Elsevier’s Scopus database. The UPC did best in the area of “international outlook”, where the factors taken into account are the international-to-domestic ratio for both students and staff, and the proportion of the university’s total research journal publications that have at least one international co-author.

According to the 2016 QS World University Rankings by Subject, the UPC also remains among the top 50 universities in the world in Architecture and Civil Engineering, and according to this year’s edition of the U-Ranking, it is the best university in Spain in Innovation and Technological Development (both rankings were published this spring).
